Napa 2 Sonoma

Brian and I took a wonderful vacation in Wine Country a couple weeks ago. I learned of a half marathon that ran from Napa Valley to Sonoma and really wanted to do it. They only allow 3,000 runners to participate in the race so I was really excited when I received one of those spots. The race was held on Sunday July 18th and was probably my hardest race yet. The course was amazing and ran through back country roads in the middle of vineyards. Some of the roads were not even travelled by cars which made the course a little narrow at times. The first part of the race was high in the hills and we were surrounded by the misty fog. The last few miles ended in the heart of Sonoma with a wine tasting at the finish line. It was so much fun! I hope to go back someday to run it again. Brian and I spent the rest of our vacation lounging at the pool, exploring several of the wineries, and driving up and down the coast. It was a nice getaway for us and the boys enjoyed spending the week with their Grandma.

Lots of grapes & hills!
My best race medal out of 13 half marathons:)
